Poem of the Week A Woman Who Claims the Ability of Insects Teresa Ballard (Treezaa) I am orb spider slowly crawling away from connection line in belly, soft white thread spitting out of middle. Forgetting whether I am building homes or traps for those who wander, silently across my insides -- predator or prey? I am green grasshopper, legs opening wide then close, brown wet reeds growing up, making morning song. I am both, the devoured and the beast who wraps each gift slowly in a blanket of white thought, pure and drained.
